Exactly one year to the day that we first saw and fell in love with the wonderful Laundrette. We can announce that their debut single ‘Southerndown’ will be released on June 28th.
Laundrette’s Ollie Dixon says:
“Southerndown depicts the stages of anxiety, or perhaps more precisely, of a panic attack. The stages are presented in a dismembered, non-linear format through the three sections of the song. Musically these sections vary in intensity and tone; the instruments moving from quiet and sombre to heavy and menacing. The song intends to create the feeling of constant change common with anxiety. The post-panic-attack calm, the rising tenseness of the body and the heavy, dark feelings that linger throughout all anxiety. In this, the song provides us with a cathartic release, and we hope it can do the same for others.”
You will hear it very soon but for now you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer…
